1 And it came to pass, when the LORD would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.
2 And Elijah said unto Elisha, Tarry here, I pray thee; for the LORD hath sent me to Bethel. And Elisha said unto him, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they went down to Bethel.
3 And the sons of the prophets that were at Bethel came forth to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the LORD will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he said, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace.
4 And Elijah said unto him, Elisha, tarry here, I pray thee; for the LORD hath sent me to Jericho. And he said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they came to Jericho.

7 And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went, and stood to view afar off: and they two stood by Jordan.
8 And Elijah took his mantle, and wrapped it together, and smote the waters, and they were divided hither and thither, so that they two went over on dry ground.
9 And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.
10 And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so.
11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
12 And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.
13 He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan;
14 And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the LORD God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over.
15 And when the sons of the prophets which were to view at Jericho saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha. And they came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.
16 And they said unto him, Behold now, there be with thy servants fifty strong men; let them go, we pray thee, and seek thy master: lest peradventure the Spirit of the LORD hath taken him up, and cast him upon some mountain, or into some valley. And he said, Ye shall not send.
17 And when they urged him till he was ashamed, he said, Send. They sent therefore fifty men; and they sought three days, but found him not.
18 And when they came again to him, (for he tarried at Jericho,) he said unto them, Did I not say unto you, Go not?
19 And the men of the city said unto Elisha, Behold, I pray thee, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord seeth: but the water is naught, and the ground barren.
20 And he said, Bring me a new cruse, and put salt therein. And they brought it to him.
21 And he went forth unto the spring of the waters, and cast the salt in there, and said, Thus saith the LORD, I have healed these waters; there shall not be from thence any more death or barren land.
22 So the waters were healed unto this day, according to the saying of Elisha which he spake.
23 And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head.
24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.
25 And he went from thence to mount Carmel, and from thence he returned to Samaria.

Counsels on Health (CH) Section 2

“Lessons from the experience of John the Baptist.”

[Testimonies for the Church 3:61-64 (1871).]

For years the Lord has been calling the attention of His people to health reform. This is one of the great branches of the work of preparation for the coming of the Son of man. {CH 72.1; CSI.71.2}

John the Baptist went forth in the spirit and power of Elijah to prepare the way of the Lord and to turn the people to the wisdom of the just. He was a representative of those living in these last days, to whom God has entrusted sacred truths to present before the people, to prepare the way for the second appearing of Christ. John was a reformer. The angel Gabriel, direct from heaven, gave a discourse upon health reform to the Father and mother of John. He said that he should not drink wine or strong drink, and that he should be filled with the Holy Ghost from his birth. {CH 72.2; CSI.71.3}

John separated himself from friends, and from the luxuries of life. The simplicity of his dress, a garment woven of camel’s hair, was a standing rebuke to the extravagance and display of the Jewish priests, and of the people generally. His diet, purely vegetable, of locusts and wild honey, was a rebuke to the indulgence of appetite, and the gluttony that everywhere prevailed. {CH 72.3; CSI.71.4}

The prophet Malachi declares, “Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: and he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers.” Malachi 4:5,6. Here the prophet describes the character of the work. Those who are to prepare the way for the second coming of Christ, are represented by faithful Elijah, as John came in the spirit of Elijah to prepare the way for Christ’s first advent. The great subject of reform is to be agitated, and the public mind is to be stirred. Temperance in all things is to be connected with the message, to turn the people of God from their idolatry, their gluttony, and their extravagance in dress and other things. The self-denial, humility, and temperance required of the righteous, whom God especially leads and blesses, is to be presented to the people in contrast to the extravagant, health-destroying habits of those who live in this degenerate age. {CH 72.4; CSI.72.1}

God has shown that health reform is as closely connected with the third angel’s message as the hand is with the body. There is nowhere to be found so great a cause of physical and moral degeneracy as a neglect of this important subject. Those who indulge appetite and passion and close their eyes to the light for fear they will see sinful indulgences which they are unwilling to forsake, are guilty before God. Whoever turns from the light in one instance hardens his heart to disregard the light upon other matters. Whoever violates moral obligations in the matter of eating and dressing, prepares the way to violate the claims of God in regard to eternal interests. {CH 73.1; CSI.72.2}

Our bodies are not our own. God has claims upon us to take care of the habitation He has given us, that we may present our bodies to Him a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable. Our bodies belong to Him who made them, and we are in duty bound to become intelligent in regard to the best means of preserving them from decay. If we enfeeble the body by self-gratification, by indulging the appetite, and by dressing in accordance with health-destroying fashions, in order to be in harmony with the world, we become enemies of God…. {CH 73.2; CSI.73.1}

Providence has been leading the people of God out from the extravagant habits of the world, away from the indulgence of appetite and passion, to take their stand upon the platform of self-denial and temperance in all things. The people whom God is leading will be peculiar. They will not be like the world. But if they follow the leadings of God, they will accomplish His purposes, and will yield their will to His will. Christ will dwell in the heart. The temple of God will be holy. Your body, says the apostle, is the temple of the Holy Ghost. God does not require His children to deny themselves to the injury of physical strength. He requires them to obey natural law, to preserve physical health. Nature’s path is the road He marks out, and it is broad enough for any Christian. God has, with a lavish hand, provided us with rich and varied bounties for our sustenance and enjoyment. But in order for us to enjoy the natural appetite, which will preserve health and prolong life, He restricts the appetite. He says, Beware; restrain, deny, unnatural appetite. If we create a perverted appetite, we violate the laws of our being, and assume the responsibility of abusing our bodies and of bringing disease upon ourselves…. {CH 74.1; CSI.73.2}

Self-denial is essential to genuine religion. Those who have not learned to deny themselves are destitute of vital, practical godliness. We cannot expect anything else than that the claims of religion will come in contact with the natural affections and worldly interests. There is work for everyone in the vineyard of the Lord. {CH 74.2; CSI.74.1}

Testimony: 07-22-2017

Beloved, on Saturday July 22, 2017 I had a third dream. I was in an enormous house and all of us who were there were Adventists, for some reason I could know. Everyone was excited by the spaciousness and grandeur of the place, and they were fighting to get the best place. So there was a lady who preceded an auction sale and this lady told my husband: “this place is for you,” and my husband told me about it and when he told me, I went to see it and I said: “no, this place could not be because health and cooking workshops cannot be given there, and there is no land to plant, nor does it even have water!.” So they proceeded to auction it since we didn’t want that place. {Daisy Escalante: 07-22-2017 , en.p1}

Then there were others who also wanted it and stayed in that auction sale. Then I began to look through a window, I saw a beautiful mountain, and at that moment I heard the voice of my companion who said to me: “go up, go up the mountain.” So I told my husband and my son who was with me to go up the mountain and when we went up we saw a small wooden house, but it was very pretty, it had a beautiful planting ground, so I told my husband: “this is the ideal place, look! it even has a river!.” {Daisy Escalante: 07-22-2017 , en.p2}

So my husband ran to tell the lady that we wanted that place and she replied as contemptuously: “no problem, anyway, nobody wants that place, you can stay there.” So I saw when my husband was on his way to me and my son, and when he was about to tell me what the lady told him, I interrupted him and said: “I know what she told you,” because for some reason I had heard. {Daisy Escalante: 07-22-2017 , en.p3}

Then we heard a tremendous noise, a horrible noise when we were already on the mountain and we looked at the big house on the plain, the house had a cross on top and for some reason we thought it was a church, and when we looked it had a sign that said: “Seventh-day Adventist Church.” So when we saw this and were amazed, we saw how a huge stone fell and crushed it with everyone who was there. Then we began to cry and although we did not feel in danger, we could not conceive what we had seen. I fell to the ground, I could no longer stand up, and my companion told me: “get up and regain your courage.” So I asked “why this?,” and he answered me: “every known system will fall, but the true children of God, his true faithful church, that one will never fall.” Then he raised his hand, with his right arm pointed at me and said “look” and I began to see that under the trees on the slopes of the mountains there were small groups, who sang, who prayed fervently to God, and read the word of God and my companion told me: “this, this is the true church; now you will go,” he said, “and tell the world what you have seen and heard, and the true people will prepare and get ready to meet their God.” {Daisy Escalante: 07-22-2017 , en.p4}

Then he lightened me and said: “do not fear, but hurry, because the time is very close.” I ran, but soon I do not know how, I rose in the air and went flying to tell the world. And in that moment, there beloved, I woke up. {Daisy Escalante: 07-22-2017 , en.p5}

Testimony: 02-22-2018 #01

Beloved, February 22, 2018. In dream I was taken to a place where there was a meeting of many leaders of children, adolescents and youth. There was a great debate in that place regarding the education of these children. Then some said some things, others other, others thought they were right. Then a sister began to speak, and another sister joined her, and they convinced [a] great crowd to give their children the best in education to educate them. {Daisy Escalante: 02-22-2018 #01, en.p1}

So they brought a huge (bus) and they rode all these children, adolescents, and youth, and took them away. So then at that time I told them not to leave, but my efforts were in vain to make them understand, because everyone who was there released their children, like when you release a bundle that you have carried uphill for hours. {Daisy Escalante: 02-22-2018 #01, en.p2}

So they believing, to some people, since they released [their] children. Then I was telling them: “but is it that you are going to believe in these people instead of [in] a ‘it is written?'” But they didn’t pay any attention. So I began to exhort them to remember Madison, to remember Jesus, John the Baptist, even what Moses had to go through before he was ready to be used, where all this protocol had to be ripped from him, and emptied to fill it now of the talents, the ministry, and the operation that God was giving him. Then my companion told me something very sad, He was sad, so what He told me was: “let’s go, because we are going to a place and we are going to see what had happened.” Then we came to this great house, this house had many rooms, and in each of them there was a different scene. Then in one, I went into a room and saw girls, they were little girls, they were babies, they were very well groomed, they were in beds with dolls and stuffed animals. So these dolls and stuffed animals were dedicated to evil, it was what I could see, what they were showing me. So from they were little, these things that lived inside these dolls and stuffed animals, indoctrinated them in evil because these dolls were possessed; I was seeing them like that, how evil angels lived inside those dolls and stuffed animals. {Daisy Escalante: 02-22-2018 #01, en.p4}

Then I went to another room and I saw [a] older child, in my opinion this child would be about 2 or 3 years old. There he was in front of a video game screen, his life of spiritual learning passing like water in a broken glass. So he then, was not soaked or full by this, but he was just in that room hypnotized with that video game. {Daisy Escalante: 02-22-2018 #01, en.p5}

In another room when I entered, there it was… it was a room then it was extremely dark, there was a little girl resting, it was a beautiful little girl with very pronounced eyes, when I entered and I tried to open the windows so that the light could enter, a force took me by the arms so that I would not open them, but my companion helped me and I was able to open them, and many dolls ran out and hid under the bed where this girl was. So I took the girl, took her out of there, and was indicated to put her in a large room, where in that room what was being read was the Bible constantly. {Daisy Escalante: 02-22-2018 #01, en.p6}

At that moment we left that room, and I entered another room. There I saw parents, parents were overwhelmed! because they saw their children who were desperate because of their homework, that they did not leave time of quality to educate their children in the real education that are the things of God. I saw them enslaved, they were oppressed by evil hosts that surrounded them and they did not know how to escape! {Daisy Escalante: 02-22-2018 #01, en.p7}

So we left that place, without further passing, and we continued the path and I was taken to another room where there were young people. They were about three young people and they were absorbed in violence and science fiction movies. Then I saw them by their side, while they were sitting there watching these movies, there were angels but these angels were evil. So they (the angels) tried that they not hear anything else, just what they were showing them, what they had prepared for them (the young people). So at that moment I got closer to them, and tried to make them realize who was controlling them, but their faces when they looked at me seemed hypnotized, there was no way to make them enter in reason! Then my companion said something very sad to me, He said: “let’s go, their fate has already been cast.” {Daisy Escalante: 02-22-2018 #01, en.p8}

So at that moment I kind of enter a little in despair, and I said: “Lord, what are we going to do?!” But He said: “Let’s go.” So we went to another room, this one was larger in space, there I saw young people as in young adults, these studied each one, books of their choice, and all were happy and anxious that when they finished that book, what they were going to expect was the monetary remuneration for having studied these books. So in a corner was the book of books, there I saw the bible where it was indicated to me that it was the real wisdom, the way of eternal life, and it was there forgotten and it was dusty. Not one of those in that room paid attention to this Book. {Daisy Escalante: 02-22-2018 #01, en.p9}

So we left there, we went to another room, and there I would see adults. All of them in their pursuits of secular work, they had no peace and were surrounded by evil hosts that encouraged them to continue for material remuneration, although they felt that they should not do it but the debts oppressed them, and some and others were afraid of letting go, out of fear and their comfortable state that they felt when they were in this situation. So I started talking to them, but they didn’t understand me either, I don’t know what was happening. So I said: “Lord, why?! my eyes can’t keep seeing this anymore, I want to help them!” But at that moment my eyes kind of opened a little more, and I saw the ears of these people and I saw like black hands that were covering their ears. {Daisy Escalante: 02-22-2018 #01, en.p10}

So I asked: “will this always be like this?” Then the voice answered me: “they chose.” Then I exclaimed with great great pain because this is very difficult for me. Then I said: “Lord, how close are we to the world to come?” Then He answered me: “now the preparations are ready, soon we will be home.” Then I exclaimed: “O Holy, sovereign God! And these people? What will become of them?” Then my companion told me: “come, I will show you.” {Daisy Escalante: 02-22-2018 #01, en.p11}

So we went out of the huge house, I was contemplating it from a distance, I began to cry for it, for the situation that I had experienced, [that] I had seen in that place. So at that moment, when I was already looking at this, at that moment a wind came and raged against it, and a board from that house flew out and fell on my feet, so I bent down to pick it up, and I saw something that had written, I read that inscription that said in red letters: “Laodicea.” {Daisy Escalante: 02-22-2018 #01, en.p12}

Then when I looked up, I saw the house again, but it was no longer in its place, there was a group of few people, I saw there babies, children, adolescents, young people, adults; A small group of people were being educated there in that same place where that house was no longer there, by a beautiful and beautiful character who shone with great splendor, that my eyes could not fix much on Him, because His splendor almost did not let me see Him. Then I could appreciate in a moment that His right hand was raised to the heaven and with the other He was holding a book that also shone, and He was instructing them, and everyone understood what this character was saying to them; then they began to walk after Him, but no longer at ground level, but their feet were raised in the air; I saw them as they [were] rising little by little. Then I exclaimed: “Lord, how will we get to this group? At this level?” Then I saw how they were educated, they were educated only from the word of God, and so I was instructed that to reach this level we only have to educate from the word of God. {Daisy Escalante: 02-22-2018 #01, en.p13}

At that moment the scene changed, I saw parents who were educating their children at home with the only word of God in their hands, and from it emanated every branch of source of wisdom for them and their children, and how the angels came and they attended them, and peace reigned in them. I also saw young people giving up their desires, expectations, what they desired and what they wanted; but no, they were there devouring the word of truth like when they are going to go through an exhaustive exam and they can’t afford to fail it, that’s how they were. Then I also saw adults, some were alone in corners, in places, others in families, and we are letting go of everything for the love of God, just seeking His forgiveness and approval. {Daisy Escalante: 02-22-2018 #01, en.p14}

At that time I also saw how families went room by room, corner after corner, taking out of their camp all anathema, everything that impeded the presence of God in their lives, and these people moaned for the abominations that surrounded them, and they asked to be freed from said contamination. {Daisy Escalante: 02-22-2018 #01, en.p15}

So at that moment I turned to my companion and asked: “what are we going to do now?” And I was told: “lighten your load because the hour is almost come and soak your being with the Holy Word, just and true of our great God, because heaven is almost near.” So at that moment when I heard these words “heaven is almost near”, I asked: “when will this glorious hope be? How much left?” “I want to leave” I added. Then He looked at me smiling and answered: “before you is the final test, be faithful until death and you will be given the crown of life.” Then at that moment I exclaimed, a sigh came out, and I exclaimed: “Lord, the final test, who can bear it?” Then He answered me: “no one that from now discards their expectations and desires will be able to triumph, only a resounding death to the I will help to endure and win.” Then He paused, but continued to tell me: “only one thing is important now, get out of Egypt, celebrate the Passover with me in the desert, seek me with all your heart and you will live.” Then at that moment I exclaimed: “Lord forgive me!” So I said to Him: “forgive me because I want to ask you another question,” and I said to Him: “what does ‘passover’ means to you?” And then He answered me: “stop living for this world, and resolve only to live for me and my kingdom, like Enoch who celebrated his Passover once and forever, and lives forever in my kingdom.” At that moment beloved there I woke up. Testimony: 05-19-2018

Beloved, this Saturday, May 19, 2018. It was 10:45 at night, that is, after we received Saturday. And I was praying to the Lord, already in moments of already being in bed, moments when we are already as we always should do before going to rest, to get right with God in everything that has happened during the day, in gratitude, to ask for forgiveness, in short, to feel that we are pouring out our being in front of this supreme God that we have. {Daisy Escalante: 05-19-2018 , en.p1}

He knows our concerns, He knows our regrets, our joys, our sorrows, our daily struggles, and in that because He is all omniscient, at that moment I heard His word that told me: “Learn to eat what others do not consider food and you will not suffer from food shortage.” {Daisy Escalante: 05-19-2018 , en.p2}

Thinking about this, because these were the words that I heard, I didn’t hear anymore. My mind began to run and I began to think: “if I have a bunch of plantains, well a lot of people eat plantains, eat bananas,” it’s not that we have to have them, but thinking about that I put that as an example in my mind, in that moment, and I said: “it’s true, everyone eats plantains. But if I have cohiter, if I have purslane, not everyone eats that, so I will have food even in times of scarcity.” So dear brothers, this thought of mine that I now externalize with you, because you are my brothers in faith worldwide, I put them in your thoughts so that you can analyze it, analyze it and ask the Lord that the Lord show you in each place where you are; what is it that we can use to feed ourselves in a situation of extreme famine. {Daisy Escalante: 05-19-2018 , en.p3}

Let us remember beloved that we are going to reach a time of not buying and selling, the food shortage, not because there really is a food shortage per-se (by itself) as such but we know that many of these things are created, including the change climatological, and all these things because it is the environmental encyclical, it has to be supported and made so that the man of sin can come, and can say: “here I am as the savior of the world.” So this thing that is happening worldwide was created in many ways, it is going to lead us to this type of situation and food control more than anything. {Daisy Escalante: 05-19-2018 , en.p4}

So please! let’s get hold of this knowledge, this food strategy that God is giving us, I titled it: “a food war strategy.” The Lord is giving us, so to speak, humanly speaking; tips, as if they were signs, or also as it were; codes to how we can survive in this time. Let’s not leave this to chance, let’s listen to our God!, He does not want us to suffer in any way dear brothers!, that is why He is instructing us little by little, take hold of the plants that the Lord has previously revealed that I have faithfully sent to you as God gave it to me, with all explanations. Let’s start taking these plants to our places where the Lord has sent us to be, and in addition to that, please pay attention to this strategy that the Lord is giving us, that if we learn to eat what others do not consider food, we will not suffer food shortage. Testimony: 07-18-2019

July 18, 2019. In a dream I was in a city where people were putting their things in cars to move to the fields. They arrived at a place where others also arrived like that, and I saw how each one of them took things to their place in said field. Soon I saw a married couple, the husband was going back to the city because according to him he had to preach, but I urged him not to do it yet because he was not strengthened, according to what I was let known. I spoke with his wife, and she was blind in reference to the spiritual state of her husband, for her there was no problem that he went out to the city. He went out, and prepared according to the preaching that he was going to give, and she stayed tranquil. I was transported to where he was going to preach, and I saw that it was not true, he put a recording of his voice, of a pre-recorded preaching so that his wife could listen to him with tranquility, and he went to the ephemeral life of the world. {Daisy Escalante: 07-18-2019 , en.p1}

At that moment my companion told me: “God cannot be mocked, He weighs the motives and calls them by name, anyone who acts out of fear or convenience will be in vain his movement, because where his mind is, there is his heart, and this will be the receiver of the seven last plagues; many they will deceive but they will also receive a great deception. Testimony: 06-02-2020

June 2, 2020. In front of me three beds, there, I saw. A twin, personal size, single bed; a full, two-person, double bed; and a king size, the largest bed. These beds were there, in front of me. Soon I heard an order. I was told, “make these beds.” {Daisy Escalante: 06-02-2020 , en.p1}

I immediately grabbed a quilt that was there, along with others, and began to do so, starting with the smallest bed. I struggled to make it all fit. Then I moved on to the bed that was bigger, the full bed, the two-person bed; and I also went through some work. But when I moved to the larger bed, everything was even, as the bedspreads were all king, and the bed fitting was exact and perfect in symmetry. Then it was said to me, “so it is when the body is at the height of the dress, so, in that way, when the character is in God’s measure, His garment, the garment of righteousness, remains in great symmetry with the mortal body, and will transform it into a heavenly citizen.” {Daisy Escalante: 06-02-2020 , en.p2}

As I was thinking and meditating on this, the scene changed. I was looking at a mountain, and, as I looked at it, it exploded as when a volcano erupts, and there was much suffering and pain. This volcano exploded in a place never foreseen, and unexpected, and caused great fear and damage to the immediate population. After that, while I was watching all this, and the fright of those people seeing this unexpectedly happen, the scene passed. {Daisy Escalante: 06-02-2020 , en.p3}

And I saw how a lady was holding on to a mail check, it was a money order, and it was with tears and holes in it, but she was fighting for it. I heard her say, “it’s the only thing I have, if I lose it, what will I do, I can’t lose it!” And she was grabbing her head thinking what would become of her without that check. The scene changed again. And I saw young men absorbed in their dreams and thoughts. And I saw how the enemy, and his angels, were instigating them to continue in this vain thinking, while events were running on the imminent appearance of the Lord Jesus. I tried to awaken and exhort them, but they were spellbound and hypnotized. I saw them wander aimlessly, their minds gone and their eyes wandering. Soon, I heard a very loud noise, and saw that the car in which they were riding had crashed, and no one was moving. I wept beloved, bitterly for these young people! At that moment, there, I woke up. Praying, asking the Lord, imploring the Lord for the young people, and for other people; for all the people who are not yet realizing. [So] that, by His grace and by His mercy, they may wake up and realize that the imminent coming of the Lord is already there. But, before that, all the things that are going to be happening, the strong trial that we are going to have before us. May God grant that we be ready. This is my plea and prayer. Hymn 84: A song is heard in high sphere *

1 My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.
2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.
3 Behold, we put bits in the horses’ mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.
4 Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.
5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.
7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:
8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.
10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?
12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.
13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
